Guarding your heart...
Guarding your heart
“Of course I’ll hurt you. Of course you’ll hurt me. Of course we will hurt each other. But this is the very condition of existence. To become spring, means accepting the risk of winter. To become presence, means accepting the risk of absence.”
― Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, The Little Prince
seems so cliché..
seems out of touch..
who would do so?
Maybe me…
What makes a heart glee?
Flowers, the sun, rain, all sorts of fun
but you know what, it's that whisper, it's that embrace
that you too are loved..you too are cared.. you too matter
Can sadness turn to happy?
Just like gloomy to warm(y)..
Isn’t it your heart?
That makes world go round
After all, it is a vessel you carry
It is the one that gets weary..
So I say, guard your heart as if it was your only armor
Not to be bitter or to wrap in chains
but to love in the way that liberates
that makes you free
to see even the day in night
Love the ones that truly love you
and be that heart that heals
And heal.. because true love?
Is the one you give to yourself
and the one that you give without expecting anything in return
A quote from one of my favorite books:
“Of course I’ll hurt you. Of course you’ll hurt me. Of course we will hurt each other. But this is the very condition of existence. To become spring, means accepting the risk of winter. To become presence, means accepting the risk of absence.”
― Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, The Little Prince
